| In this CD, members of
a new generation of excellent musicians play, with freshness and a contemporary
style, the music created by the great Cuban conga player and composer
Chano Pozo, all under the musical direction of maestro Jorge Reyes. Among
the musicians who take part in this recording, one can recognize Tata
Guines, a true expert in Cuban percussion. "This is a dream that
has been brought to reality since the days in which trumpet player Dizzie
Gillespie used to come to Cuba and told us about how much he admired
Chano Pozo, his life, his anecdotes... so I felt the time to record his
work had come. Now is the 50th anniversary of his death, and that´s
why I think this is the right time to pay homage to one of the greatest
